Roads Agency Limpopo
Roads Agency Limpopo (RAL) is a provincial state-owned company that was established in terms of the RAL Act to deliver road construction and maintenance services to the residents of the Limpopo Province. The roads agency was tasked to champion the development of economic opportunities.
RAL is responsible for the construction of roads and bridges and for maintaining, rehabilitating and managing provincial roads infrastructure. The roads infrastructure development enables ease of doing business which is the catalyst to accelerate economic growth.
Our History
Tracing our path of growth and development through the years
Since its establishment in 1998, Roads Agency Limpopo has been at the forefront of developing and maintaining the provincial road network. Over the years, the Agency has grown from its early operations into a fully registered company under the Companies Act of 2008, strengthening its legal and operational framework.
From taking responsibility for the road network in the late 1990s to driving continuous growth today, our journey reflects dedication, resilience, and a commitment to improving infrastructure across Limpopo Province. Each milestone in our history marks progress toward building safer, more efficient, and sustainable roads for the communities we serve.
Establishment
Roads Agency Limpopo was established under the Limpopo Province Roads Agency Proprietary Limited and Provincial Roads Act 7 of 1998.

Operations Begin
The Agency began its operations, taking responsibility for the provincial road network in Limpopo.

Company Registration
Registered in terms of the Companies Act 71 of 2008, strengthening our legal framework.

Our Mandate
The mandate of RAL is clearly set out in Section 25 of the RAL Act 7 of 1998 as amended. The main functions and responsibilities of the agency are to perform all the planning, designing, construction, management, controlling and maintenance of provincial roads for the Limpopo Province.
Road Construction
We plan, design, and construct new roads to improve connectivity and support economic growth across the province.
Road Maintenance
We maintain and rehabilitate existing road infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient transportation networks.
Bridge Construction
We design and construct bridges and culverts to enhance connectivity and provide safe river crossings.
